HERE8 Video Podcast:

Frosted Glass - Street Life in

Western Soma

A sampling of life just beyond my studio

windows in late 2017 & early 2018.  This is in San Francisco's

Western South of Market District, an area that  has birthed and is the home to

major tech companies, is home to millennials and homeless, the site of new

construction and an neighborhood with

an active night life.

This documentary began as a simple desire to learn more about the conversations I have heard for years from within my street level work studio from sidewalk passersby.  I recorded bits and pieces of verbiage from within my studio and it against video taken outside on nearby streets at other times.  I have no idea who I recorded.  And they have no relationship to the people shown in the video footage itself.  This investigation led me to look a little bit deeper into what Western South of Market is at this amid the San Francisco tech boom.

HERE8 is 32 minutes long.  It was written, filmed and edited in 2016 through 2018.
